Prince George’s Community College Announces Free Remote Area Medical (RAM®) Clinic Event

LARGO, Md. (November 2, 2023) Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) announced its upcoming Remote Area Medical (RAM®) Clinic event, taking place on Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12. RAM® is a major nonprofit provider of pop-up clinics delivering free, high-quality dental, vision, and medical care to those in need. The RAM® Clinic in Largo will be held in collaboration with The Links, Incorporated’s Prince George’s County (MD), Mount Rose (MD), and Willow Oak (MD) chapters.

All RAM® services are free, and no ID is required. RAM® will provide free dental, vision, and medical services on a first-come, first-served basis. The patient parking lot will open no later than 11:59 p.m. on Friday night, November 10, and remain open for the clinic’s duration. Clinic doors open each day at 6 a.m.

Due to time constraints, patients should be prepared to choose between dental and vision services. All medical services offered, in addition to dental and vision services, are free to every patient in attendance. Available services include dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extracts, dental X-rays, eye exams, eye health exams, eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses made onsite, women’s and men’s health exams, general medical exams, and medical physicals.

Additional services offered by the Community Host Group include laboratory tests (i.e., rapid pregnancy, Prostate Specific Antigen [PSA], blood panels, etc.), Prince George’s County Health Department STI Testing and Vaccinations, and U.S. Public Health Service NARCAN administration demonstrations. Limited numbers of sexually transmitted infection (STI) and vaccine services will also be available.

In situations outside RAM®’s control, such as inclement weather, volunteer cancellations, or other circumstances, the parking lot may open earlier, or RAM® will service a smaller number of patients. RAM® encourages everyone who would like services, especially dental services, to arrive as early as possible. Clinic closing time may vary based on each service area’s daily capacity. For more information, please visit RAM®’s FAQ page.

For members of the press, the media location will be Room 105 BDF in the Center for Performing Arts building, located next to Kent Hall.
